Eurozone inflation rate turns positive after five months
June 3 , 2015
Eurozone’s inflation rate turned positive last month after either falling or stagnating for five months, raising hopes of a recovery in Europe.
The annual inflation rate was up from April's 0% to 0.3% in May, according to Eurostat, the EU statistics agency.
In recent months, experts have been worried about deflation; so the return of inflation should come as positive news.
While prices of services were up 1.3%, food and drink prices rose 1.2%, figures show.
