Euro depreciates on French and Greek elections

  • The euro has depreciated against the dollar and the pound following weekend elections in France and Greece.

    Two parties in Greece that support austerity measures have lost their majority. In France, Francois Hollande has been voted as the new president and promised to revise eurozone debt deals.

    The euro fell as low as $1.295, its lowest level since January.
