Electric car maker Tesla posts loss, but revenues soar

  • Tesla has posted better-than-expected revenues of $893 million in the first three months of 2015, up 52% from the same period in 2014. But the firm reported quarterly losses of $154 million. The electric car maker said it manufactured 11,600 vehicles during this period, 1,000 more than projections.

In the second quarter of this year, it plans to manufacture 12,500 cars, increasing production by 12%, it said. Tesla’s results come days after it announced it would make batteries to power homes.
