ECB raises emergency helpline for Greek banks
July 17 , 2015
The European Central Bank (ECB) has reportedly increased emergency funding to Greece’s banks by €900 million for a week. Mario Draghi, the ECB president, said it had offered help after a request made by the Bank of Greece.
He said there was no disputing the fact that debt relief to Greece was “necessary” but what needed to be debated within the coming weeks was what “best form” the debt relief takes.
