Diageo sales up 6% in first quarter
May 3 , 2012
Sales at Diageo, the world’s biggest distilled drinks group, rose six percent in the first quarter of 2012.
Despite falling sales in Europe, the group was able to profit from fast-growing emerging markets and a recovery in North America.
The London-based maker of Smirnoff vodka and Captain Morgan rum said it was on track to meet its target for the fiscal third quarter, also at six percent.
