Debt negotiations: Greece will stick to 'red-line' promises made to voters
May 8 , 2015
Greece will adhere to the “red line” pledges it made to voters and won’t make concessions during negotiations with creditors, the country’s government has said.
A government spokesperson said that pensions won’t be cut.
Talks with the EU and IMF are ongoing. Creditors want spending cuts, trimming of the civil service and greater privatization as conditions for Greece to receive further loans.
Meanwhile, European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker said that it was not a wise thing to openly discuss Greece’s exit from the euro.
