Businesses in UK report slower quarterly growth, says survey

  • Businesses in UK have reported a slower growth in the first quarter of this year, according to a survey.

The slowdown in the first three months was experienced by both services and manufacturing, the report by the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), which analyzed 7,500 firms, revealed.

This comes after a strong showing in the last quarter of 2014. Since then, growth of exports and domestic sales have slackened across the country.

According to BCC Director General John Longworth, the survey showed that Britain “still faces obstacles” to long-term and sustainable growth.
