Businesses add 191k jobs

  • Payroll processor ADP mentioned that businesses added 191k jobs in March. Small ones reportedly added 72k jobs while the large companies added 67k.

"The job market is coming out from its deep winter slumber," chief economist Mark Zandi said. "Even better numbers are likely in coming months as the weather warms." The ADP report counts workers included on company payrolls even if they weren't paid and stayed home due to the weather. This fact may explain why there were reports of much higher monthly job gains earlier this year.

The economy and job market may have slowed down a bit because of the weather but there has been some improvement from the previous month.
