Boost from Germany helps eurozone economy grow by 0.3% in Qtr 4 of 2014

  • Germany’s rapid growth propelled the eurozone economy to grow by 0.3% in the last quarter of 2014, beating expectations.

    Germany’s economy grew by 0.7% in the last three months of the year, comfortably ahead of analyst forecasts. But the French economy has grown by only 0.1% in that period.

    Meanwhile, for the entire year, the eurozone economy registered a 0.9% growth.

    Three EU member states, Finland, Greece and Cyprus, have seen a contraction in their economies.
