June 22 , 2012
Air France has announced it will cut more than 5,000 jobs by the end of 2013 in a bid to reduce costs and return to growth.
The figure makes up just under 10 percent of the total workforce of 53,000.
The French airline hopes to avoid compulsory redundancies through natural turnover and voluntary redundancies.
Air France posted a loss of $653 million for 2011.
