Africa received the highest share of global foreign direct investment (FDI) last year, according to Ernst and Young.
FDI increased by 27 percent in 2011, leading to the continent’s share of the world’s investment to almost a quarter.
A bulk of the investments have gone into the manufacturing, infrastructure-related and services sectors.
Ernst and Young predicts Africa’s FDI inflows, currently at $80 billion, could hit $150 billion by 2015.
