A massive earthquake, measuring 7.1 on the Richter Scale struck off the northeast coast of Honduras, at 3:24 am (0824 GMT) today, sending people running for the safety.
The epicenter of the earthquake is reported to be 80 miles (130 km) northeast of La Ceiba, Honduras and 200 miles (320 km) from the capital city of Tegucigalpa.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center had earlier issued a tsunami watch for Honduras and Belize, Guatemala. According to the firefighters' report of the city of Guatemala, no major damage has been reported so far in the city
