Aug 18 2015 - The wreckage of an airplane that crashed in the mountains of eastern Indonesia was spotted from the air on Monday in a rugged area of the easternmost province of Papua. According to media reports, the Trigana Air Service turboprop plane, which has 54 people on board, was carrying cash totaling $468,750 in government aid for poor families to help offset an increase in fuel prices. However, there is no information of any survivors from the crash that occurred on Sunday due to bad weather.
Aug 17 2015 -Indonesian searchers said that the debris of an airliner that crashed in the mountains on Sunday has been located. According to media reports, the ATR42-300 turboprop aircraft operated by Trigana Air Service, which was carrying 54 people, went missing during a short domestic flight. All of them were Indonesian and comprised 44 adults, five children, and five crew members. Raymond Konstantin, an official for Indonesia's search and rescue agency, said that the wreckage of the aircraft had been spotted on Monday but a ground team has not yet been able to reach it.
