Hawaii Volcano Could Result in More Evacuations

  • The possibilities have been raised in Hawaii of officials ordering people to evacuate their homes as there is still lava coming out of the giant earth rips there. Recently, lava tore upwards through a huge fissure towards a coastal dirt road, which is one of the last few exit routes for as many as 2,000 residents in Hawaii's Big Island's southeast area. More lava pouring cracks are likely to open in the countryside  25 miles east of Kilauea's smoking summit. This would too block one of the few remaining exit routes (Highway 132).
