Former China security chief Zhou Yongkang arrested

  • Zhou Yongkang, the former security chief of China, has been arrested, media reports said.

Zhou, who was the most senior establishment figure to be probed for corruption, was also expelled from the ruling Communist Party. The Supreme People's Procuratorate has started a formal probe against him.

Zhou headed the country’s massive internal security establishment before his retirement two years ago.

Several of his family members and ex-associates are also facing corruption investigations.
