New York Giants re-sign Will Beatty with five-year deal

  • The New York Giants retained one of their highest priority potential free agents on Wednesday, as the team signed a five-year contract with offensive tackle Will Beatty.

Financial terms were not disclosed though media reports suggest the deal is worth $37.5 million and includes an additional $1.25 million in incentives.

Beatty has started 31 of the 50 games he has appeared in during his first four seasons.

Due to eye surgery in 2011, he missed New York's victory in the Super Bowl XLVI and missed much of last year's training camp due to a back injury.

However, he played in all 16 games last season and started 15 of them.
