Computing is a term that has always and integrally been associated with calculating and any other types of counting. Today, however, the term Computing has acquired a larger connotation. Computing today can also mean writing a computation that functions on a computer.
Introduction :
The one feature that the term Computing retains to this day even to this day even after the widening of its scope is the fact that it remains a procedure that is calculated and determined through mathematical and logical methods.
So, calculation and logic remains the core and integral factor about Computing. No matter how elaborate the calculations have become and how advanced the gadgets have become, Computing is something based on numbers and figures.
There is another thing that remains constant about Computing. This thing is the presence of ‘Computers'. In the earlier days, the people who conducted the Computing were called ‘Computers'. Today Computers are the gadgets that conduct the process of Computing.

However, more has changed than remained the same. So, today, Computing is a sequence of processes that the computer uses to calculate and solve. Computing is conducted electronically today. Also, modern computing is equipped to handle complex calculations. This is more because the computation is carried with the help of machines – called hardware – and software.
The study of Computing is called Computer Science. Computing originally began with tally sticks and the Abacus. In the modern times, high end computing is conducted by quantum computers.
Also, now-a-days there are numerous companies involved in the process of computing.
