Anaheim Stadium

Anaheim Stadium , now known as the Angel Stadium of Anaheim , is the home stadium of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim of the Major League Baseball of American League . The stadium, earlier the home to the Los Angeles Rams , has a nickname with which it is popularly known- The Big A . The Angels Stadium was opened on 19th April, 1966 with an official game between the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the Chicago White Sox. However, the first match in the stadium was actually played between the Angels and the San Francisco Giants on the 9 th of April of the same year.

Since its first day, the stadium, owned by the city of Anaheim and operated by the Angels Baseball LP , has hosted a number of important matches of professional baseball and football. It has also been used for college football matches and pre-season games of the national football league as well as American League Division Series and the American League Championship Series . Besides hosting another important event, the World Football League, the stadium also has several concerts of Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Madonna and Pink Floyd among its list of past events. A deal of 1996 between the then owners of Angels and the Walt Disney Company will be keeping the stadium the home of the Angels till 2031 for which it is soon going to have a complete renovation.

The Anaheim Stadium has been staging important matches and events since its opening. With new makeover, the stadium is sure to become one of the main multi-purpose stadiums of the country.
