Introduction:
Frost is a type of precipitation that is solid in nature and that transforms directly from the water vapors. Frost is in fact a solid deposition formed by the evaporated water in a saturated atmosphere.
The science of frosts is related to the saturation of the air at the very moment. Frost has similarity with dew. When the surface of a solid object come in the contact of a super cooled air and the temperature falls down below the deposition point, the frosts are formed on the surface. You can see several spicules of ice on the surface of such objects. Spicule is a skeletal constitution of ice. The small particles of snow that are formed in the frosts are called the spicules. However, the more the amount of the water vapor, the more will be the size of the frost particles.
- Different Types of Frost:
Frosts come in various forms and types. Some these are: Ground frost, Hoar frost, white frost, Wind frost or advection frost, Window frost or fern frost and so on. All these types of frosts are different by the objects on which they are formed. Some of these frosts are small in size and some are different in color too.
Though it is a beautiful weather phenomenon , sometimes frosts can also cause great harm to the flowers and plants. In fact the plants cannot bear the freezing temperature that the frosts bring to them, so they die. The plants that are very sensitive and tender in nature get destroyed as soon as they face frosts.
