Computer Hardware

Computer hardware is that part of the computer which is physical and palpable or can be touched. Objects like chips boards, printers, keyboards, printers, etc. make up computer hardware .

Computer Hardware and Software:

Software is another part of a computer and it differs from hardware in being the untouchable component which is found in the format of certain concepts, symbols and ideas. It is actually not made of any substance. This can be compared with a book where the hardware is the ink and page and the software includes the sentences and the final meaning. If hardware did not exist it would be equivalent to having a book without any page.

Computer Hardware Components:

The various components of Computers Hardware :

• Monitor : It is an electrical output device which is used to display the computer generated images. The computer sends certain electrical signals to the monitor where it converts the internal data.

• Central processing unit (CPU): It is a very important component of hardware and it construes different computer instructions and manages data.

• Mouse : It is a pointing device which helps in many manual computer functions. There are many kinds of mouse like ball mouse, mechanical mouse, wheel mouse, laser mouse, wireless mouse, optical mouse and many more.

• Keyboard : It is an input device and it resembles the keyboard of a typewriter. It is used for the input of textual data and controlling various computer operations.

• Printer : It is a hardware device which can make hard copies of different documents.

• Scanner : It is utilized in the input of pictures or text to the computer.

• Computer Accessories , Multimedia and Modems .
