The first low cost airline to fly across the South African horizon was
Kulula. Kulula Airlines was founded in 2001 and initiated its operations a little later in the year. Kulula's destinations, at that point of time, comprised of Johannesburg and Cape Town. Gradually its route map incorporated places like Durban, Port Elizabeth and the number of flights in operation also increased considerably.
Kulula Airlines is an auxiliary of the Comair group and it goes by the official name of Kulula.com. Kulula Airlines operates flights to several domestic and international destinations namely Blomfontein, Windhoek, Harare, Ndola, Lusaka and Mauritius.
Kulula Airlines fleet comprises of a 737-400, a couple of 737-200s and McDonnell Douglas DC-9-82s which are six in number and have been acquired from Safair on lease. Kulula airlines offers its passengers all the necessary services and ensures a safe and comfortable journey.
