Established in March 2007 Sama Airlines folded up 3 years later because of budgetary issues. Referred to officially as Sama LelTayaran Company Limited, this budget airline provide services in and out of Saudi Arabia.


Sama Airlines History

Sama Airlines was founded in March 2007. It was known officially as Sama LelTayaran Company Limited. Its parent company was Investment Enterprises Ltd and its chairman was Prince Bandar Bin Khalid Al Faisal. From December 2008 Bruce Ashby served as its CEO.

In its initial stages 30 leading institutional and private investors pumped in money in the company and the focus was primarily on domestic flights. It suffered significant losses on investment that resulted from inadequate funding and was forced to call it a day on 24th August 2010.

Sama Airlines Details

Sama Airlines operated from King Abdulaziz International Airport and King Khalid International Airport. It had 6 aircraft at its beck and call and its slogan was "Simply Fly".

The budget carrier was based at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Prior to its closure the airline offered flights to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and United Arab Emirates. Previously it had also offered flights to India.
