Pegasus Airlines


Pegasus Airlines was inaugurated during 1990. It operates as a budget carrier and its head offices are at Halkali in Kucukcekmece, Istanbul. Its present owners are Esas Holding. It previously operated as a chartered airline in association with Aer Lingus.

Tickets can be bought from the website through Master Card and Visa credit cards. Name changing are not allowed and refunds are not provided after the flight has left but reservations can be changed or cancelled.

Pegasus Airlines Rules

Pegasus Airlines passengers cannot carry any piece of baggage if they are heavier than 71 pounds according to European Union rules. They cannot carry more than one item of luggage on board and that should not weigh more than 18 pounds.

Travelers need to be at least 30 minutes before take off in case of domestic flights and with regards to international flights this goes up to 45 minutes. Following documents can be produced at the airport while check-in:

Pregnant women can travel without health reports till they have been pregnant for 28 weeks. Children who are between 8 days to 3 years age need to be accompanied by an adult or their parents.

Children who are within the 3 to 7 years age group are not to fly without a companion but children in the 7 to 13 years age category can fly on their own. Visually challenged passengers can travel with guide dogs and wheelchairs are provided. Reservation can be done for pets.

Pegasus Cafe offers a diverse selection in food such as chicken, chicken legs, seafood, Caesar’s salad, pasta, and special breakfast. A special menu is also available for kids on board. Reservation needs to be made at least 48 hours prior to flight.

The Turkish carrier has 29 Boeing 737-800s and each of them have the maximum passenger capacity of 189. There are a couple of Boeing 737-400s and Boeing 737-500s each. The Boeing 737-500s can carry 131 passengers and the upper limit for Boeing 737-400s is 170.
