FlyGlobespan History

FlyGlobespan was inaugurated in November 2002. It started operations from April in the next year. In its initial stages it had a couple of Boeing 737-300 that had been taken from Channel Express. It provided flights to 5 locations across Spain, Italy and France and operated from Edinburgh Airport and Glasgow Prestwick Airport. The company finally ceased its flights on 16th December 2009 owing to financial problems. Its parent company was Globespan Group Plc.

FlyGlobespan operated from 3 Scottish airports – Aberdeen Airport, Glasgow International Airport and Edinburgh Airport. It had 9 aircraft with 4 Boeing 767-300ERs. Its flights were available in 3 continents - Africa, Europe and North America. Egypt was at the center of its African operations.

In North America the carrier provided flights to 5 cities in USA and Canada. In Europe its flights could be availed from several cities in Croatia, Spain, Cyprus, Switzerland, France, Turkey, Ireland, United Kingdom and Portugal.

The slogan of FlyGlobespan was "Award Winning Airline" and its head offices were at Edinburgh, Scotland. Tom Dalrymple served at its chairman.
