Slovak Airlines was established in 1995. It was based at Bratislava, and its operating base was MR Stefanik Airport. It was officially referred to as Slovenske aerolinie a.s. and was the leading Slovak airline during its time.
Slovak Airlines offered flights to cities spread across several countries such as Bulgaria, Montenegro, Cyprus, Spain, Egypt, Tunisia, Greece, Turkey and Jordan. It had a couple of Boeing 737-300s and a Fokker 100. It was based in MR Stefanik Airport at Bratislava and its parent company was Austrian Airlines. The head offices of the erstwhile Slovak carrier were in Bratislava. Its IATA code was 6Q, ICAO code was SLL and Callsign was SLOVLINE.

The European airline was incorporated on June 24, 1995. It kicked off operations during May 1998. Viliam Vateska was the founder of the airline, along with some other private investors. Austrian Airlines bought 62% shares of the company during January 2005.
Austrian Airlines took back its financial assistance during January 2007. On 2nd March it registered for bankruptcy. Seagle Air, a small company, acquired most of Slovak’s offices and employees.
