AB Volvo (or Aktiebolaget Volvo) of the Volvo Group is a Swedish automobile manufacturing company established in 14th April 1927. it is based in the city of Göteborg Gothenburg, Sweden. Branded as a premier car making company of the world, the Volvo Group produces and markets commercial vehicles, trucks, buses and construction equipment, drive systems for marine and industrial applications, aerospace components and financial services, to over 180 countries located in Asian, European and North American continents.

According to the 2006 survey, the workforce increased to 83,187 employees in 58 countries, out of which majority are based in Sweden, France and the US. The sale figure in Eastern Europe has risen by 41% complimented by an increase in the investment by Asians (Japan and China) during 2006.
