The Swiss International Airlines is the national airline of Switzerland. It started operating on the 31st of March in the year 2002. Presently, it has its subsidiary companies that are the Swiss Sun and the Crossair Europe.

It is the ancillary of German Airline Lufthansa and a member of the global Star Alliance. The main hub of Swiss International Airlines is at Zurich Kloten Airport. The Swiss Airlines has its head office at Basel, Switzerland. It also has another office in the USA.

The Swiss International Airlines offers numerous flights to different international destinations. 71 destinations in 42 different countries are served by the airline, 43 of which are in Europe and 28 are intercontinental. There are a total of 75 aircrafts in Swiss International Airlines fleet. The fleets can be categorized into aircrafts meant for long and short distances. For long distances, the Swiss Airlines uses A340 and A330 category of aircrafts. A320 and RJ 100 category of aircrafts are used for short flights. The categories of aircrafts include:

  • Avro RJ100, which are 20 in number.
  • Airbus A320, which are 19 in number.
  • Airbus A319, which are 7 in number.

The fleet also includes Boeing 737 Business Jet, Saab 2000, Fokker 100, Boeing 737 and British 146.
