The extensive railway network of the state can also be found in the Florida state map. Norfolk Southern and CSX Transportation are the two prime Class I railroads of Florida which collectively served 1895 miles of tracks in the year 2000. St. Joseph Railroad formed in 1836 was the first ever railway service provider of Florida. Equipped with a total of 2956 miles of railway tracks, the state of Florida is served by several passenger trains. According to a survey in 2000, Florida had 15 railroad companies that offered trains to various parts of the state. Amtrak-Auto Train, Amtrak-Empire Builder, Amtrak-Sunset Limited and Amtrak-Silver Service provide trains to Florida. Also, the Tri-County Commuter Rail Authority is a major railroad which offers trains to Southern Florida with 18 stations. The towns indicated in the railway map of Florida include Melbourne, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, St. Petersburg, West Palm Beach, Tampa, Monticello, Silver Springs, Titusville and many others. All these towns and major cities are well-connected through the wide-reaching railway trackways of the Florida state.
