The state of Alaska is located in the northwest of the North American continent, and its geographical and political boundaries are clearly defined on the Alaska Location Map.

The state borders with the Artic Ocean and Beaufort Sea to the north; British Columbia and the Yukon Territory on the east; the Bering Sea, the Gulf of Alaska, and the Pacific Ocean to the south; and the Arctic Ocean, Bering Strait, Bering Sea, and Chukchi Sea to the west.
