Nogales is a city in Santa Cruz County of the Arizona state in the United States of America. As per the 2000 census, its population was recorded to be 20,878. It lies on 31º21’14” N latitude and 110º56’21”W longitude. It covers a total area of 53.9 km square as per the record of the United States Census Bureau. It has a population density of 387 persons per Km Square.
The city is the county seat of Santa Cruz County and is Arizona's largest international border town. It is known in O'odham (Papago) as No-wa:l. The citizens of Nogales elect the Mayor, Vice-Mayor and City Council to look after the affairs of the city. It also has a citizen’s charter framed, adopted and ordained in the name of the citizens of Nogales to act as guidelines for the government. Economy of Nogales is based on agribusiness and produce distributors, all of which comes from large farms in the Mexican agriculture belt.
