The state shares its northern borders with Ontario and Manitoba of the Canada, its eastern border with Wisconsin and Michigan, its southern border with Iowa, and its western border with North Dakota and South Dakota. Minnesota is spread over a total geographical area of 84,402 square miles, which includes 79,548 square miles of total land area and 1,874 square miles of total inland water area. Its highest point is Eagle Mountain, at an altitude of 2,301 feet. The lowest point is Lake Superior, at 601 feet. The total length of Minnesota's borders is 1,783 miles.
