Nagasaki


Nagasaki, the capital of Nagasaki Prefecture is a beautifully located sea port city on the spectacular island of Kyushu Japan. Being one of the nearest harbor cities to the main terrain of Asia, this city of Nagasaki performed an eminent part in trading worldwide through ages.

Established prior to the 16 th century the city of Nagasaki was popular as a harbor from the very beginning. The frequent visit of several European settlers and explorers used the seaport of Nagasaki as their destination from the medieval age. Other than this, the city bears significant historical traces. The more current history states, Nagasaki became the next city after Hiroshima to be shattered by an atomic bomb in the last phase of World War II.

At present the main uptown and downtown area of Nagasaki is located beside the shoreline of the bay. Approximately the area of 407 square kilometers of the terrain provides the habitat for 456,000 people.

Other than being a busy sea port, the city of Nagasaki has built up eminent schools and universities which has made the city an educational hub too. The array of colleges and university incorporates Nagasaki University, Nagasaki University of Foreign Study, Kwassui Woman's College and Seibold University of Nagasaki.

The delectable Japanese cuisines like Sara Udon, Kasutera, Karasumi and Nagasaki Kakuni Manju are the representatives of Nagasaki Culinary. The visitors will find a number of major attractions in Nagasaki . This spectrum integrates Sofukuji, Nagasaki Peace Park, Confucian Shrine, Oura Church, Dutch Stope and Glover garden.
