Bulgaria flag is a tri color. The rectangular shaped flag comprises of three colors namely white, green and red, appearing exactly in the same order as mentioned. Each of the sections is equal in length and breadth. The width length ratio of the Bulgarian flag is fixed at 3:5. The dimensions of the flag of Bulgaria are 18 cm x 30 cm, 24 cm x 40 cm, 90 cm x 150 cm, 129 cm x 215 cm. The colors of the national flag of Bulgaria and the color shades are standardized. The standards are with the Standardization and the Meteorology Department. The white portion of the flag must have a degree of whiteness not below 80%. The shade of green used in the flag is number 17-5936 according to the Pantone -textile scale. The shade of red is number 18-1664 of the Pantone textile scale. The white portion of the flag stands for liberty and peace while green is representative of agricultural wealth and prosperity and a state of freedom. The red section of the flag is in remembrance of all those martyrs who shed their blood for the freedom of the country and symbolizes their extraordinary courage. The flag was adopted as the national flag in 1990. There was an emblem on the white section of the flag but it is no longer a part of the Bulgarian flag.
