Biggest Cities in Florida by Population

Florida, located in the southeastern part of the United States, is the 22nd most extensive state of the country and the third most populous. The state comprises numerous cities, some of which had gained fame the world over due to its magnificent beaches or entertainment sites. Tallahassee is the capital of Florida. Located in Leon County, it is home to 181,376 people and is spread over an area of 103.5 square miles. However, the biggest city of the state is Jacksonville which covers an area of 874.6 square miles and is home to 821,784, as of 2010. it is also one of the largest cities in the entire US.

Comprising the third tallest skyline in the county, comprises a population of approximately 399,457 people. Home to many international banks, the city covers an area of 55.27 square miles. Nicknamed ‘The Beautiful City, Orlando has a population of around 238,300 people. Tampa, which is located on the west coast of Florida, comprised a population of 346,037, as of 2011. In 2008, Forbes ranked it the 5th best outdoor city.

Some other prominent cities of Florida include St Petersburg, Fort Lauderdale, Cape Coral, Gainesville, and Clearwater to name a few.
