Sports stadiums are the stadiums, which are specially built and used for hosting sports events. The stadiums used for sports differ from one event to other. The size of them also depends on the sport played there.

Generally different field games like football, soccer, cricket, rugby, athletics, baseball and hockey are staged in the sports stadiums . The size of the field in the middle of the stadiums also differs with the change of sports. For sports like football, rugby, soccer and hockey rectangular field is used, while for cricket and athletics, round or oval shaped field is used.

There are also stadiums , which are structured in such a way that they can be used for numerous sport events. These stadiums are known as multi-sports stadiums . One such stadium is Olympic stadium . Most of the sports stadiums are open at the top. However, dome stadiums are considered to be a revolution in the world of stadiums, where the entire field is covered with roof. The sports stadiums can be found with varying sitting capacity. The stadiums, where international and national events are arranged, generally have more capacity in comparison with the local stadiums. Sports stadiums are also found in different designs. With the advancement of technology, designs of the stadiums are also being modified.
