Air Burundi



Air Burundi was set up in 1971 in the month of April. Air Burundi commenced functioning in 1975. It was Burundi's national airline.

The former name of Air Burundi was Societe de Transports Aeriens du Burundi. Air Burundi acquired its present name in 1975 in the month of June. The headquarter of Air Burundi was located at Bujumbura. The government of Burundi was the owner of Air Burundi. The airline stopped functioning during spring 2007.

Hub

Bujumbura International Airport was the main hub of Air Burundi.

Destinations

Air Burundi functioned scheduled international services in two destinations. The destinations which were served by Air Burundi are as follows:
  • Kigali
  • Entebbe
Fleet

The fleet of Air Burundi consisted of the aircraft Raytheon Beech 1900C Airliner. In 2006 in the month of August the aircraft DHC-6 Twin Otter Series 300 was also functioned by this airline.
