Tokyo 2020 Olympics

The 2020 Summer Olympics is scheduled to be held from July 24 to August 9 in Tokyo. The city had previously hosted the 1964 Summer Olympics. Tokyo 2020 Olympics Venues

Out of the 33 venues decided in total, seven venues will be located within the central business district of Tokyo. The organizing committee has allotted 20 venues in the vicinity of Tokyo Bay, located southeast of the Olympic Village. The National Olympic Stadium will host the opening and closing ceremonies and football matches.

Tokyo Olympics Emblems

On April 25, 2016, the emblems of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics were unveiled. The “Harmonized Chequered Emblems” received an overwhelming response from the public and the Tokyo 2020 Emblems Selection Committee “for exemplifying Japan and the city of Tokyo.” The chequered design in traditional indigo blue color expresses Japan's elegance and sophistication. The different varieties of rectangles and design convey the message of “Unity in Diversity” and they seem to embrace different cultures and ways of thinking.
