This city was the heart of the French revolution and Industrial revolution . Paris is situated at the north bending arc of the river Seine. Paris is also known as a romantic city. With a historical background of over 2,000 years, Paris is among the foremost cities of the world for its beautiful architecture. Among the various places of interest, the main attraction of Paris is the Eiffel Tower . There are also Notre Dame de Paris, Arc de Triomphe, Montmarte, Arche de la Defense, Place de la Republique, Place de la Bastille, Place de la Concorde, Place Vendome and many more.

The Eighth Modern Olympics: The 1924 Summer Olympics were officially known as the Games of the VIII Olympiad . The Games were held in 1924 in Paris, the capital of France.

Venue: The Eighth Olympiad was held in the Stade Olympique Yves-du-Manoir in Colombes , near Paris, France. The stadium is also known as the Stade Olympique de Colombes or plain Colombes to the locals. With a capacity of 45,000 spectators, it was the main stadium for 1924 Summer Games.

Participants: 3089 participants from 44 countries took part in the Paris Olympics, 1924. The participating countries were Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Cuba, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Great Britain, Greece, Haiti, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United States, Uruguay and Yugoslavia.

Events: In Paris Olympics there were 126 events in 17 sports. The events included athletics, boxing, cycling, equestrian, fencing, football, gymnastics, modern pentathlon, polo, rowing, rugby, sailing, shooting, swimming, tennis,weightlifting and wrestling.

Medal Count: France won 38 medals in total with 13 gold medals. United States won 45 gold medals and 99 in total and became the winner in the Games.

A Brief Description of Paris Olympics, 1924: The Eighth Modern Olympic Games were held in Paris, France from 4 th May to 27 th July . The Games were officially opened by President Gaston Doumergue. The athletes uttered Olympic oath led by Georges Andre.
