Ras As Sudr is an important city to Egypt because of its industrial developments, which is vital for the growth of the country as a whole. The city is located some 37 miles south of the Ahmed Hamdi Tunnel. Hence, it is an important place for people who travel
between the Sinai Peninsula and the mainland of Egypt. The Gulf of Suez region has only one more town, which is more important than Ras As Sudr and that is the El Tor town. It is because of the business growth in this region, that there are many hotels and accommodation facilities in Ras-As Sudur. The transportation within the Ras as Sudur is very well developed.

The Suez Canal area in the Ras as Sudr region is one of the most beautiful beach destinations. Those who wish to enjoy a rather quiet place with only a bit of beach side sports would find this place very attractive. Though there are hotels and restaurants to serve the need of tourists, the tourism industry in Ras As Sudr is yet to be developed.

The best activity to enjoy on the beach of Ras As Sudr region is kite surfing. There is a training center too in the place. Tourists can have a fabulous time surfing kite in this region.
