Ain-Sokhna is also known by the names of ‘El Ein El Sukhna’ and ‘El Ain El-Sokhna’. In Arabic, Ain-Sokhna means ‘Hot Springs. The name of the place has been derived from the sulfur springs, which are located in the nearby region. These springs originated on the northern side of the mountains of Gebel Ataka. Ain-Sokhna lies at a distance of 55 kilometers towards the southern part of the Suez.

Located in close proximity to the sea, Ain-Sokhna attracts many tourists every year. The tourists can enjoy a variety of interesting activities on these exotic beaches. Some of these are snorkeling, parasailing, swimming, fishing, windsurfing, and many more.

Reaching Ain-Sokhna

Ain-Sokhna is well connected by bus, train, and taxis with other parts of the country. These modes of transport are frequently available to the passengers. It is situated at a nearby distance from Cairo and can be reached by service taxis or directly by car. The buses of East Delta Bus Company and service taxis depart from the Koulali terminal, which is located near Ramses station.
