Suwon is a city in South Korea. From the south of Seoul, Suwon is about 30 kilometers away. Traditionally Suwon is referred to as 'The City of Filial Piety'. Suwon is also addressed as the capital of Korean Football due to the popularity of a Korean football team named Suwon Samsung Bluewings.
The city has four districts which are Jangangu, Yeongtongu, Paldal gu and Gwonseon gu. One of the major attractions of Suwon City in South Korea is the Hwaseong Fortress. The Fortress was built by King Jeongjo. Hwaseong Fortress is now referred to as the UNESCO world heritage site. During the Japanese colonial rule in Korea some parts of the fortress was partly burnt. The Hwaseong Fortress was planned by Jeong Yakyong, scholar in Confucianism.
