Suwon is a city in South Korea. From the south of Seoul, Suwon is about 30 kilometers away. Traditionally Suwon is referred to as 'The City of Filial Piety'. Suwon is also addressed as the capital of Korean Football due to the popularity of a Korean football team named Suwon Samsung Bluewings.

in South Korea is the provincial capital of the most populated province of South Korea, Gyeonggi-do.

The city has four districts which are Jangangu, Yeongtongu, Paldal gu and Gwonseon gu. One of the major attractions of Suwon City in South Korea is the Hwaseong Fortress. The Fortress was built by King Jeongjo. Hwaseong Fortress is now referred to as the UNESCO world heritage site. During the Japanese colonial rule in Korea some parts of the fortress was partly burnt. The Hwaseong Fortress was planned by Jeong Yakyong, scholar in Confucianism.

Suwon is regarded as one of the cities in South Korea which leads in digital technology. Some of the other major attractions of Suwon city in South Korea are as follows:

On 5th May every year a pilgrimage to Hwaseong Fortress is organized each year. Different types colorful performances are also organized in this event. Suwon food like Galbi or Kalbi is very famous Korean dish. Famous personalities like Park Ji Sung, a football player of the Manchester United team resided in Suwon. Many educational institutions are situated in Suwon. An IB World School has also been constructed in Suwon.

Suwon in South Korea has all the qualities of a modern city.
