Jenin is one of the important destinations in Palestine. It lies in the West Bank’s Jenin Governorate. This is known to be a very important agricultural center of Palestine.

This city was recaptured by Israel after the 2002 Operation Defensive Shield.

Jenin of Palestine shares its boundary with Marj Ibn Amer or the Jezreel Valley on the northern side and Jordan Valley on the eastern portion. There is a major hospital in this city of Palestine known as the Martyr Doctor Khalil Suleiman Hospital. There is the official refugee camp of the United Nations over here. This is the home to mostly the descendants of Arab refugees of the Arab-Israeli War that occurred in 1948.

Jenin at Palestine has also been the center of conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians for a long time. It was in the year 1996, that Jenin was handed over to Palestine by the Israelis. Israel put the allegation that Jenin was the center made for dispatch of the suicide bombs in the northern and central part of Israel at the beginning of the al-Aqsa Intifada. The Jenin Massacre is known to be one of the most dangerous battles that were fought in 2000 April.
