Rafah is known to be the southern most city of Gaza strip. There are a number of sightseeing destinations in Rafah like the temples of Roman Gods Artemis and Appolon. There are also some beautiful beaches for one to enjoy. One will also get some delicious local food at Rahfah in Palestine. Rafah is also the site where Cleopatra got married.

Rafah of Palestine is known by the names of Robihwa, Rafihu and Raphia. It is also the largest town of the Gaza strip. There are two refugee camps in Rafah. One is the Canada Camp and the other is the Rafah camp. Rafah is the district capital of the Rafah Governorate. There is an airport located in the southern part of the city of Rafah known as the Yasser Arafat International Airport. But this airport is no more in operation.

The only crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt known as the Rafah Border Crossing is located here. Earlier the Israeli military used to control the Rafah Border Crossing. But the authority of the crossing was given to the Palestinian Authority in September, 2005. Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's Presidential Guard looks after this crossing from the month of April, 2006.
