Ramallah town of Palestine used to be the summer resort of Jordan. It was once known as the ‘Switzerland of Jordan’. Ramallah of Palestine is situated 16 kilometers in the northern part of Jerusalem.

Since the year of 1995, Ramallah has turned into a political and administrative center of Palestine.

Ramallah in Palestine is also the home of the Palestinian Legislative Council. The radio and television centers of Palestine are also located here. The governmental organization of Palestine that is Muqatta is found here. Visitors will come across a number of dance and folklore festivals at Ramallah and neighboring El-Bira. There are also good restaurants and hotels in the place.

There are many high-rise buildings in Ramallah which are found in the typical Jerusalem styles. In Ramallah, the British set up the Ramallah Prison to punish the revolutionaries. Here the helicopter of the President lands when he visits the West Bank.

The view of the surrounding place from Ramallah is a feast for the eyes. The two main parts of the area of Ramallah are Ramallah city and El-Bira city. In the southern part of the city of Ramallah is the el-‘Amari refugee camp, and in the northern part is the town of Bir Zeit and Jalazoun refugee camp.
