Tanzania Sports

Tanzania sports include wide range of playing activities like which plays variety of sports like basketball football, boxing, cycling, athletics, rugby, scouting, fishing, golf, hockey, hunting, tennis, volleyball. Gradually Tanzania sports is becoming popular and Tanzania is evolving as a country, which can produce eminent sportsmen in the coming future.

The government of Tanzania is taking adequate steps to employ better coaching facilities to the young and the talented people so that they can improve their playing skills and can really enjoy gradual success. Various sports committees of Tanzania like the National Sports Council of Tanzania, National Sports Association are keen in improving the standards of the sports. Sports in Tanzania is improving by leaps and bounds and is hopefully trying to create a mark for itself in this discipline.

Some famous football stadiums of Tanzania are Jamhuri Stadium, Kambarage Stadium, Amaan Stadium, Manungu Stadium, Umoja Stadium, CCM Kirumba Stadium, Lake Tanganyika Stadium and some eminent footballers are Eddie Anaclet and Said Maulid. Few famous football clubs are Simba SC, Prisons FC, Young Africans FC, Kahama United and Moro United.

Tanzania also participated in the Olympics from 1964 to 2004 except 1976. In the basketball game Hasheem Thabeet is only player to reckon with. Some skilled athletes that Tanzania can boast of are Boay Akonay, Martin Sulle, Lwiza John, Faustin Baha, Fabiano Joseph, Damian Paul Chopa and Francis Naali. Some of the well known Olympic competitors from Tanzania are Restituta Joseph, Agapius Masong, Filbert Bayi, Ikaji Salam, Juma Ikangaa, Zebedayo Bayo and John Nada Saya.
