Dak Lak became a part of French dominated territory in the following years. It was only after a long and crucial struggle that Dak Lak achieved complete independence. The variegated history of Dak Lak combined with the existence of various ethnic groups living in the region make Dak Lak unique.
The province of Dak Lak is home to numerous ethnic minority communities including the Gia Rai, Ede and M'nong. The ethnic groups of Dak Lak do not form separate territories to live in segregation. However, each ethnic community of Dak Lak lives in a close knit group within a particular area.
The natural resources and the abundance of man power in Dak Lak province provides huge scope for economic development of the area. The policies of the government also prove to be an added advantage for the development of the economy of Dak Lak.
