Acajutla is one of the important El Salvador Cities. With a population of 23200 people, it is the business center of El Salvador. Nearby cities to Acajutla El Salvador are San Salvador, Guatemala, Villa Nueva, Mixco and San Pedro. Acajutla in El Salvador is the seaport in the Pacific Ocean. It is situated in the south western part of El Salvador.
After being defeated by the Spanish in 1524, Acajutla became a colonial port. During this time the town was also rebuilt and thus the port facilities were extended. Thus still today Acajutla is the principal city of El Salvador. As coffee is the main plantation in El Salvador, the port in Acajutla definitely was a boon for the growth of coffee industry.
