Importance of Holbaek : The city of Holbaek is an active commercial and industrial center. The city is also an active seaport, which serves as the harbor for the ferry to Orro, an island near which there is a large marina. The city of Holbaek is situated 30km northwest of Roskilde.

Tveje-Merlose Church : 4km south of Holbaek you will find Tveje-Merlose Church The church dates back to 1120 century and was restored in 1892 to 1894. It is one of the oldest churches in the country. It was originally built by members of the Hvide family, to which Bishop Absalon also belonged. The pulpit of 1571 and the wall-paintings of 1175 are some of the special features of the church. In the churchyard stands a modern 20th C. sculpture, "Pottemageren" (Jug Maker), by Jais Nielsen.
Holbaek Museum- The interesting local museum is located in Klosterstraede near Holbaek. The museum has an exhibition of 17 th century furniture and tools. A half timbered house dating back to 1660 has been re-erected near the museum.
Tollose Castle- The beautiful castle inside the castle is open to the public.
Lovenburg Palace- This palace is not accessible by the common public.
