Malta climate is largely dictated by the Mediterranean Sea. However, it is usually a pleasant Mediterranean climate that Malta experiences.

The climate of Malta is pleasant enough to attract great number of tourists to the region. Malta climate can be divided roughly into the summer, rainy and the winter season. In the months of June, July and August dry climate prevails in Malta. The summer season of Malta is hot and dry whereas rainfall takes place during the winters. The weather is wet and warm during the autumn season. The rainy season falls between the months of October and March.

Summer Season of Malta

As per the climate at Malta, the summer season is very hot and dry. Sunny days prevail in Malta during this season. There is no sign of rain from the months of April till August. The hottest months of Malta when the mercury rises very high are July and August. During these months the temperature during the day time ranges from 30° to 35° centigrade. In Malta the level of humidity is very high; this makes the summer temperatures unendurable. But coastal influences sometimes soothe the summer temperatures of the place. The wind of “sirocco” from Africa makes the temperature during the autumn and spring season very high reaching.

Rainy Season in Malta

Rainy season in Malta is very short lived. It stays from the month of October to that of March. The autumn season also brings in little rain.

Winter Season in Malta

Winter season in Malta is mainly balmy. North and north eastern winds of Central Europe influence the winter season in Malta. As the winter season is not so chilled Malta never experience snow fall. During winters the maximum temperature during the day time raises upto10° centigrade, where as at night the temperature does not fall below 0° Celsius. Stormy weather prevails in Malta under the influence of the gale winds.
