Nepal weather is generally cool and pleasant. Like most of the countries in the Indian sub-continent, there are four distinct seasons in Nepal. December to February is winter, while June to August is the summer season. Autumn and spring in Nepal are comparatively for a short period of time. Autumn spans from September to November, while spring runs from March to May.
Monsoons in Nepal commence from the end of June and continue till mid-September. The country gets maximum rainfall during this period, while rest of the time, the climate in Nepal remains dry. Winters in Nepal are extremely chilly for the Himalayas. Temperatures drip down to almost -40°C in some places and there is heavy snowfall too. This is usually found in the mountains of Nepal. In the other parts of the country, the temperatures are mild. The weather in Nepal is almost the same in all the cities and provinces of Nepal.
